Songwriting duo Watkins & Oliver are set to perform at Crowfest 2025. The all-day festival is on Saturday 19 July at Cwmbran Stadium.
Rhys Watkins told Cwmbran Life that he’s been playing music with Dan Oliver for “unofficially” for 20 years, but it was two years ago that the pair formed a duet saying: “We’ve known each other through the music scene and been in various bands”.
The songwriting partnership’s main focus is original material, but for Crowfest they’ll be putting on covers that the “crowd are going to know.”
‘Upbeat country hits’
The Crowfest crowd can look forward to a set of “upbeat country hits” including tracks from Tracy Chapman.
As well as being on stage in front of a local crowd, Rhys said they’re looking forward to meeting up and chatting to other musicians they know on the bill.
He added: “There’s a bit of a community across musicians in Newport and Cwmbran.”
Alongside Watkins & Oliver, the lineup features Darren ‘Graceland’ Jones, Abba Revival, The Oasis Experience, Rusty Shackle, Watkins and Oliver, and Guns2Roses.
