The lead singer of Guns 2 Roses is performing in India a week before he returns to his hometown of Cwmbran to play at Crowfest 2025- and flying to Australia in a few months’ time.

Gavin Felvus, a former Fairwater Comprehensive School pupil, started the Guns N’ Roses tribute band in 2003. His decision to perform as Axl Rose was a good one. Since its launch, he’s taken Guns 2 Roses to shows across the world and shared the stage with former members of the band.

This photo is of Gavin with Gilby Clarke, a former rhythm guitarist with Guns N’ Roses, at a show last November.

Crowfest is at Cwmbran Stadium on Saturday 19 July and has a line-up of the Abba Revival, The Oasis Experience, Watkins & Oliver, Rusty Shackle, and Darren ‘Graceland’ Jones.

He said he was “absolutely looking forward” to playing in the town where he grew up.

When he was a child, Gavin had only heard of three stadiums: “Wembley, Cardiff Arms Park, and Cwmbran Stadium, so to play one out of three of them isn’t bad,” he joked.

So what can the Crowfest crowd expect from Gavin and the band?

He said: “It’ll be a visual representation of Guns 2 Roses in their prime. It’s going to be a very energetic, explosive show.

“It’s so great to have this in Cwmbran. It will bring people together as a community. It puts Cwmbran on the map.”

The set list will include ‘November Rain’ and ‘Paradise City’.

In October, Gavin and Guns N’ Roses are flying for a series of shows in Australia and New Zealand.
