Caldicot’s Rusty Shackle brought their “pop’y folk rock” to Crowfest.
The six-piece band performed a set of their original songs with one or two sneaky covers dropped into the set.
Their album ‘Under a Bloodshot Moon’ made number two in the official UK Folk Album Charts.
One of them joked towards the end of the set: “If you want to go to a gig that’s not an astroturf, we’ve got the Corn Exchange (in Newport) coming up.”
They put me in such a good mood.
You can find the link to their upcoming show in Newport here.
They performed Fatboy Slim’s ‘Praise You Like I Should’ and it was outstanding.
And bringing it back to the local area and their original music, they performed ‘Newport Rising”, an anthem that brought the crowd together with some fist-punching, toe-tapping fun.
