The snow build up in the lanes in and around Cwmbran have to be seen to be believed. Watch this clip that shows how snow has affected the quietest roads in Cwmbran.

As the snow started to fall in Cwmbran today many people used their creative skills to build a snowman. But two next-door neighbours in Croesyceiliog were so inspired by the Winter Olympics  in PyeongChang that they built their own bobsleigh track.

A 16-year-old wheelchair rugby player from Cwmbran helped a former Wales international try out the tough sport. Gareth Thomas took part in a training session with the Ospreys Wheelchair Rugby team. Cwmbran High School pupil Kyran Bishop plays for the team and battled with ‘Alfie’ during a training session at Llantrisant Leisure Centre.

A Torfaen councillor was shocked to count 78 dog poos along a footpath near a Cwmbran primary school. The incline in Coed Eva has bins for people who use the area to exercise their pet.

  Gerald Sims took his daughters to swimming lessons with Cwmbran Otters in 1986. It wasn’t long before he was helping to set up the lane ropes before training sessions.  Thirty-two years later he is still at the heart of the club as head coach and honorary treasurer.

A desperate appeal has gone out from Cwmbran Celtic Ladies FC for new players. The club has been running since 2012 but last week they had to call off their match against Llangyfelach as they couldn’t field 11 players.
