A touring theatre company has been saved from cancelling gigs this winter thanks to a Cwmbran business. Preston’s Certain Curtain Theatre was targeted by a gang of thieves on their way home from a performance in Yorkshire in October.

A Cwmbran pub landlord gave two homeless men a room for the night during the recent snowfall. Malcolm Gough’s pub in Old Cwmbran, the Halfway, had a few spare rooms last Sunday so he put a post on Facebook saying if anyone needed shelter he could help.

Drivers driving carefully along Maendy Way in West Pontnewydd had to dodge two giant snowballs that had been pushed into the middle of the road this evening. A resident said that before the snowballs were moved cars were swerving into a bus stop to avoid them.
