Five staff from Pontypool’s Harvester restaurant are preparing to cycle 50 miles this weekend to raise money and awareness for homelessness charity Social Bite.
They’re teaming up with two staff members from Harvester in Llandarcy, Neath.
The team of seven will set off from the Rhydycar Harvester in Merthyr Tydfil on Sunday 14 September, making stops at the chain’s sites in Pontypool, Cwmbran, and and Harvester Coed-Y-Gores before crossing the finish line at Cardiff Bay.
Social Bite provides homes, jobs, food, and support to help people experiencing homelessness rebuild their lives.
Vital funds
The Harvester team hopes the ride will not only raise vital funds but also shine a spotlight on the work of the charity.
Michael Baldock, general manager of the Harvester in Pontypool, said: “At each stop, we will be just getting a drink top-up and going around with our collection box to help raise as much as we can.
“I am so proud of our team for stepping up to this challenge and dedicating their time and energy to raising money for Social Bite. Their collective effort and unwavering commitment have made a real difference, and it’s truly inspiring to see what we can accomplish when we work together for a cause we believe in.”
