Megan Edwards and Shaun Gunter hold Eddie Credit: Megan Edwards

A Cwmbran couple are jumping out of a plane and running the Cardiff Summer Half Marathon to raise money for a charity that supports families through miscarriage, stillbirth and child loss.

Megan Edwards and Shaun Gunter lost their baby boy in March this year. Eddie was stillborn at 40 + 5 weeks.

During their time at the Grange University Hospital they were helped by 4Louis.

Megan, from Ty Canol, said: “When spending the special few days with Eddie, we were supported by the charity 4Louis. They provided us with a memory box, full of items for us to remember Eddie by, including his hand/ footprints and a lock of his hair, all for free.

“If it wasn’t for the care of 4Louis, we wouldn’t have been able to spend any time with our special boy, who slept in a ‘cold cot’, which was also provided by the charity.”

Megan hasn’t run since before she was pregnant but is “determined to set my mind to something special and so very close to my heart.”

The pair have also signed up for a skydive in the same month as the half marathon. They will take off from an airfield in Swansea, be strapped to an instructor, and leap out around 10,000ft.

Megan said: “We’re trying to get out as much as we can to keep ourselves busy.

“The only reason 4Louis can keep going is from charity work. They wouldn’t be able to do this without it.”
