Last year’s laser show at Ysgol Panteg was a brilliant alternative to a fireworks display.

The school’s PTA organised the event, and it attracted over 1,000 people. I bought a ticket and can say it was spectacular.

The small team of volunteers has decided to organise it again, with tickets now on sale for the 2025 show taking place on Saturday 18 October.

Cathy Mogg, chair of the school’s PTA, said: “This year is our second event, last year’s laser show had over 1,000 attendees and raised over £4,000 for the pupils.

“The show was designed as an inclusive alternative to fireworks, the school had pupils with different sensory experiences and we wanted them to be able to join in and enjoy the experience too.

“Our feedback was amazing; parents of children with additional sensory needs were so positive and praised the event for being so inclusive.”

Fairground rides

The event also includes some fairground rides and stall, food and drink, and glow-up toys.

Cathy added: “Some of our favourite photos and videos came from neighbours too.

“We’re a small PTA and everyone involved gave 100%. Emilie, our co-chair, helped set up and manage the event all whilst ‘wearing’ her nearly newborn baby.

“We’re so grateful to the support we’ve had from the community and hope that this year’s event will be just as spectacular. We’re hoping to fund new outdoor reading books for our children.”
