Proud parents Jo Draper and Alastair Eustace stand with their son Jacob Draper as he’s awarded his 100th Welsh hockey cap.
The couple from Griffithstown travelled to the Netherlands earlier this month to watch him reach the centenary milestone for his country.
Jacob, 28, started his hockey career in Cwmbran with Gwent Hockey Club. He now plays for Pinoke in Amsterdam.
He had the honour of captaining his country on Saturday 15 August in their World Cup opening match against India. Wales lost 3-1 but the BBC Wales match report said Draper was an “inspiring figure” adding: “His defensive work and organisation kept Wales in the game before [Sam] Welsh’s late goal gave the side reward for their resolve.”
The photo was taken at his Pinoke club next door to the World Cup Venue, the Wagener Hockey Stadium in Amstelveen.
Jacob has 63 caps for Great Britain and has played in two Olympic games.
