Vandals set fire to 3G pitch at Cwmbran Stadium

The chief executive of Torfaen Leisure Trust is appealing for parents to check if their children came home last night “smelling of smoke” vandals damaged the 3G pitch at Cwmbran Stadium.

In a series of tweets posted today (Sunday 10 April 2022) Angharad Collins said: “I’ve tweeted before and tweeting again after further vandalism on our 3G last night! Fitted 50k of anti-vandalism fence last year but makes no difference! To the individuals who started a fire on the 3G last night – you should be ashamed of yourselves! Parents if your children or young adults came home smelling of smoke last night, please speak to them!

“We are trying to provide facilities for the community! Battling with this group is costing money to repair the damage they have caused! Money we could be reinvesting further!

“So tomorrow one of our Facilities Staff Jon, will spend the morning with the contractor assessing the damage! Please stay away from Cwmbran Stadium and the pitch! You are not welcome and you are spoiling our facilities for the majority who enjoy them!”
