Pawnbrokers to open in Cwmbran town centre

Planning permission has been given to a pawnbroker to install new signs and alter the external appearance of a former travel agent in Cwmbran.

Planners approved two separate planning applications from Harvey & Thompson for 13 The Parade. The previous business was Tailor Made Travel. The applicant runs H&T Pawnbrokers, with over 250 stores across the UK. In addition to pawnbroking, the business buys gold and sells travel money.

The two applications- both approved with conditions- were:

  • One internally illuminated fascia sign with steel surround powder coated in Ral 5002 blue, one internally illuminated projecting sign with blue powder coating, one non-illuminated projection sign, and two vinyl graphics.
  • Removal of existing shop front, and installation of new shop front with recessed porch, window and door alterations, and electronic shutter

The application for the news signs includes these drawings to show planners what it would look like if approved.
