The three Welsh boxing champions who won their titles last weekend are back training in their Cwmbran gym with their sights set on competing in the 2026 British finals.
Shane McIntyre (16), Jenzen Miguel‑Powell (15) and Jedikiah Jones (15) are all members of Torfaen Warriors ABC. The trio brought home gold medals after competing in the National Championships in Cardiff.
They’ll find out soon if they’ve been selected to box for Wales in the 2026 British finals.
Simon Weaver, head coach, said that a recent sparring trip to the Sacred Heart Boxing Club in Dublin to prepare for the Welsh championship led to Shane being invited back on an all-expenses-paid trip.
Simon told Cwmbran Life: “The Irish have said he’s the best boxer in Britain to spar with so they’re paying for him to fly over with his dad. Only for one day and come back. They’re paying for everything, hotels, flights, everything.”
