Share your views on Torfaen’s council services, infrastructure, environment and communities

Torfaen residents are being asked to take part in the council’s annual survey.

Last year, nearly 1,000 people shared their views on Torfaen Council’s services, local infrastructure, the environment and communities.

The council said that since the 2021 survey they have:

  • invested in new waste vehicles

  • spent nearly £1million on road and pavement repairs

  • created ambitious plans for town centre regeneration

  • started work on a transport hub at Pontypool and New Inn Railway Station

  • installed new electric vehicle charging points in public car parks

  • issued millions in Winter fuel and cost of living payments

  • offered support to hundreds of individuals and families at risk of homelessness.

  • completed £1.6million investment at Ysgol Panteg and Llantarnam Community Primary School

  • opened a new £8.8million Welsh medium primary at Ysgol Gymraeg Gwyllyw

  • and our Play Service have provided hundreds of playscheme places for children in the school holidays

Your views about what the council has done, and what you think needs to be done, will help the council plan what services are prioritised and delivered in the future.

Councillor Anthony Hunt, leader of Torfaen Council, said: “Our ambitions for Torfaen have never been greater, but the financial challenges we face as a local authority and the cost of living challenges we face as a community have never been more stark.

“Our day-to-day services are important in making it possible for residents to get on with their everyday lives, but we also want to improve the sustainability, connectivity and well-being of our county by strengthening our communities, economy and environment.

“These are big challenges but we are confident that together they can be achieved. You can get involved by taking part in our Residents County Survey today.”
