A global aviation manufacturer with a major base in Cwmbran is inviting young people to learn more about careers in the industry at a series of information sessions this month.

Safran Seats, which designs and builds aircraft seating for airlines and crew around the world, is offering apprenticeship opportunities from Level 3 to Level 6 across its Cwmbran and Newport sites. The roles include manufacturing and production, engineering, engineering quality and degree‑level mechanical or electrical engineering.

To support local applicants, representatives from the company will run three free information sessions at the Cwmbran Careers Wales Centre on Thursday 12 February.

Session times

Sessions run from 2pm-2.45pm, 3pm-3.45pm, and 4pm-4.45pm, with the final session aimed mainly at school pupils aged 15+ or those unable to attend earlier times. Booking through this Eventbrite page is required due to limited capacity.

The sessions will include a presentation on the apprenticeship vacancies, details on entry routes and skills needed, and an opportunity to meet Safran staff and current apprentices. Careers Wales advisers will also be available for guidance.

Apprenticeship applicants must be aged 16 or over and have, or be on track to achieve, GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above.
