A planning application to turn the former newsagent and post office in Fairwater Shops into a takeaway has been withdrawn.

An application was submitted to Torfaen Council on 18 November 2020 for a: “Proposed change of use of former convenience store (A1) and sub-post office to Hot Food-Takeaway (A3) including installation of new external flue.” The shop closed last year and the sub post-office was moved into the  Premier Store about 40 metres away.

This week the application for the change of use was announced as being ‘withdrawn’ by Torfaen Council’s planning team.
