Motorbike riders are invited to lead a funeral procession through Cwmbran to Gwent Crematorium.
Mark Wood, 49, passed away on Father’s Day – 16 June 2025 – from a bleed in his stomach.
Gill, his wife, said the “avid biker” was born with a congenital heart problem that he “battled since day one,” but he still “lived life to the full.”
She added: “It wasn’t going to stop him doing anything, living as much as possible and worrying about tomorrow when it comes.”
Meet in Hollybush
The funeral is on Thursday 31 July 2025. Bikers are asked to gather in Bryn Milwr/ Cefn Milwr in Hollybush ready for 11.15am. The family cars will leave from the top of the street at 11.20am to head to Croesyceiliog. Their son and Gill’s brother-in-law will ride on their motorbikes.
The service in the Crematorium will start at 12pm and followed by a wake at Llanyrafon Social Club. Donations instead of flowers can be given at the service to Somerville Heart Foundation and the GAU at the Royal Gwent Hospital.
