A community garden next to the Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran is holding an open day.
The Friends of Llanfrechfa Grange Walled Garden renovated the former derelict Victorian garden and reopened it in April 2022. The outdoor space is enjoyed by patients, visitors and staff from the hospital to relax and enjoy being outdoors.
The ‘Have a Grow Day’ is on Saturday 1 June 2024 from 10.30am to 4pm and entry is free.
The fun activities include:
- A propagation station
- Tombola
- Plant and produce sale,
children’s activities - Outdoor game
- Books
- Crafts
- Refreshments
Organisers said: “Visit the garden, get inspired or just enjoy the beautiful space.”
The day is part of UK-wide annual event celebration of community growing and is run by Social Farms and Gardens
