Franklynn’s Barber Shop- Best Barbers 2023

Charlie Davies was featured on Cwmbran Life in November 2022.

Charlie said: “I didn’t realise there were highly commended, then runners up, then the winner. My heart was beating so so fast, I had stopped listening after they’d announced the first two because I thought ‘oh that’s over now’ and then they shouted ‘the winner is Franklynn’s Barbershop’ and I wasn’t listening. My friend was shouting and screaming. It took me a few seconds to realise I had won. I felt so humbled by it and proud of how I’ve built my shop up from the ground and I won based on the people’s choice.” She said she felt “humbled, in shock and completely overwhelmed” collecting the award.

Mamau Ffit- Best Health & Fitness 2023

Debbie Gliniany was featured on Cwmbran Life in August 2022.

Debbie said: “I’m so honoured to have won Best Health & Fitness business because I really do put my heart and soul into everything I do. My business was born out of my own struggles mentally, dealing with motherhood, and my sole aim was to try to help other mums who may feel the same.

“I wanted to create a warm, welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for women. The classes help them rehabilitate their bodies, feel stronger physically and mentally and give them more confidence but they also create a community of women supporting and empowering each other.

“The kind words and congratulations I’ve received from my clients as a result of winning this award, as well as the votes that secured the win, hopefully means I’m achieving what I set out to do.

“If I can now reach even more mums and make them aware of what I do and how I can support them, then winning this award is more than worth it.”

Jacob’s Boutique- Best Fashion Store 2023

Rhiannon Lewis was featured on Cwmbran Life in November 2022.

She said: “I was so shocked to hear our name as the winner of best fashion store 2023. I genuinely did not expect to win the award. I was chuffed to just be a finalist and attend the awards with many other great businesses.

“It’s such an honour. March has been amazing for recognition for my small business and this award means the world because it was a people’s choice award. My customers voted for me, without prompting or me even being aware I’d been nominated in the first place. So grateful and blessed.”
