The owner of a Cwmbran food business celebrated its first birthday today.
Rhiannon Maving opened Flame’z Kitchen in Llanyrafon Shops in July 2025 making sandwiches, jacket potatoes, and a changing specials menu of food from around the world.
She booked a live DJ for a party in her unit and joked they would be “tearing up” the shops.
Rhiannon has “worked solid” in the business since opening its doors.
She said: “I’ve had one week off in the last year to have an operation, not even to enjoy myself and go on holiday. It’s flown by. I’ve enjoyed it to be honest. It’s kept me busy and I’ve got a great team of staff.
“I’ve just loved it. It’s been stressful, but I am happy and happy the way things are going.
“I’ve got my family and people around me that have helped me, so I’m quite lucky.”
