Made with Grace was another Cwmbran winner at the Best of Welsh Business Awards 2023.
Earlier this a Cwmbran Life story incorrectly said there were three winners from our town. The good news is we have a fourth to celebrate and this one is a double winner.
Tamsin Thorpe runs a personalised giftware company called Made With Grace. Last Sunday she collected the Best Arts & Creative and Best Print & Design awards at the Coal Exchange in Cardiff.
She said: “I started crafting as a hobby around three and a half years ago as a bit of a distraction to help with my mental health and I at the time called myself ‘Tamsins Crafts’.
“I started out by making all sorts but my niche at the time of starting was personalised photo frames. The business began to grow in the summer of 2021, especially with personalised drinkware and it quickly became apparent that personalising drinkware was where my passion was.
“I was at the time trying to do this alongside working a full-time job but after my little girl was born and I was made redundant through COVID, I decided to take the plunge on making this my full-time job and I haven’t looked back since.
“I also rebranded to ‘Made With Grace’ to include my daughter’s name into the business. A lot of people get confused by the business name thinking that Grace is my own name, but I see it as a play on words showing that my items are made gracefully.
“I have my own website but especially sell on my TikTok platform where I have recently reached 10,000 followers on which I am amazed by!
“When I was notified I was a finalist in the Best of Welsh Business Awards 2023 in two categories I was so happy and proud of myself and the business, and to then go on to win both awards on the night completely blew me away. I am so grateful to each and every one of my customers and supporters who voted for me.
“I’m still on cloud nine from it and don’t think the feeling will end any time soon, I’m so excited to see what 2023 has in store for the business.”
