Cwmbran school pupils raise over £6,000 for cancer centre

Pupils at two Cwmbran schools raised over £6,000 from a fundraising day for Velindre Cancer Centre.

Year six pupils at Blenheim Road and Coed Eva Community Primary Schools chose the cancer charity as part of the curriculum studies on a citizenship topic. During the one day of fundraising, they took part in activities including including a danceathon, ball skills, and board games.

A total of £6,331.66 was raised.

The two schools are a single Federation with the same values and board of governors.

The Federation shared a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) that said: “We are so proud of our year six and the support from our community and parents. Diolch!”
