Torfaen-based racing driver Caleb McDuff, the UK’s only male deaf racing driver, is set to make his competitive overseas debut next month when he represents Team BRIT in the Veterans Race of Remembrance (VRoR) at Virginia International Raceway in the United States.

Caleb, who lives in Pontypool and is a former student of Cwmbran High School, races for Team BRIT, the world’s only competitive team made up entirely of disabled drivers.

The six-hour race takes place on Saturday 8 November as part of the U.S. Veterans Day weekend, celebrating the service and sacrifice of military veterans while promoting recovery and rehabilitation through motorsport.

Following a standout season, Caleb has been selected to drive a Ford Mustang in the event. Diagnosed as deaf at the age of two, he uses specially developed technology from Team BRIT that enables him to wear his racing helmet and still communicate with the pit crew via his cochlear implants.

Aaron Morgan and Paul Fullick

He will join GT4 teammates Aaron Morgan and Paul Fullick, alongside U.S.-based Resilience Racing drivers and injured American troops Jon Winker and Adam Poppenhouse.

Aaron, who is paraplegic, and Paul, a lower leg amputee, will drive an Aston Martin V8 Vantage supplied by the Skip Barber Racing School, fitted with Team BRIT’s hand control technology. The controls will remain with Resilience Racing after the event, helping expand access to motorsport for disabled drivers in the U.S.

Caleb has made rapid progress since joining Team BRIT last year, moving from a BMW 1 Series to a McLaren GT4 in 2025. His 2024 season ended on a high with a championship-class win and a podium finish in the more powerful BMW M240i.

This year, he’s secured multiple class podiums alongside teammate Noah Cosby.

Portugal

Caleb said: “Racing in the U.S. is the perfect way to end my 2025 season. From pre-season testing in Portugal, where I got to take my dad out as a passenger for a hot lap in the McLaren GT4, to multiple podiums throughout the year, and also the release of our book Breaking the Sound Barrier, this season has been incredible.

“I’m particularly excited to be driving the Ford Mustang, such an iconic American car, and driving it for the first time in America, it will bring a whole new challenge for me. I’m so grateful to my sponsors, Team BRIT and my dad for creating these opportunities for me.”

His invitation to race in America marks another milestone in a remarkable journey, as Caleb continues to rise through the ranks of British motorsport and inspire others with his achievements as a deaf athlete competing at elite level.
