Work starts on community garden in Cwmbran’s Fairwater Shops

These photos were taken today at 4.40pm. The diggers are spreading around top soil ready for planting this week.

The £20,000 project is led by CoStar who are putting in a community garden. The fascias will be repaired and repainted. The fence outside the post office and Doorsteps cafe is being replaced.

The photos show the railway sleepers that now run around the edge of the concrete slope area.

The project will also see the old concrete bins get replaced.

During the work all the shops are open as normal.

CoStar got cash from the Cwmbran Regeneration Partnership and the Welsh Government’s Environmental Improvements grant scheme.
