Residents are invited to join a Big Balsam Bash at Llantarnam Ponds on Wednesday (8 July)- a practical volunteering session to help remove Himalayan balsam, an invasive plant that spreads quickly and crowds out native species.
Volunteers will work together around the ponds to pull up balsam and restore space for local plants and wildlife to flourish. No experience is needed, just a willingness to get stuck in. The event from 5pm to 7pm is part of Wales Nature Week.
