Cwmbran Parkrun is back up and (literally) running following a long break because of the pandemic.

Runners meet near the Olive Tree club in Croesyceiliog to walk, jog or run 5km through Northfields and around Cwmbran Boating Lake every Saturday morning.

Parkrun is a nationwide event- with runners meeting up across the UK to run 5km at 9am. Some runners become Parkrun tourists and visit different ones each week to ‘tick off’ their list. Last weekend Cwmbran Life went along to film the start of the run and see the 193 runners cross the start line. This was the 193rd run in Cwmbran and an average of 175.6 people take part each week.

Entrants carry a barcode that is scanned when they finish to record their time.
