Two Cwmbran mums are helping children have fun and learn by making a mess. Clare Matthews and Natalie Magor have set up Messy Marvels, an art, sensory and creative play group.

You can like Messy Marvels page on Facebook or follow them on Twitter.

Clare said: ” We want to bring the joy of messy play to all. I met Natalie a year ago when we kept on bumping into each other in different baby and toddler groups in Cwmbran. Our two little girls are aged 14 months and 23 months and we realised not unlike any other child, boy did they like to make a mess and the messier the better!

“Our daughters love to play with glitter gloop, coloured rice, paint, jelly and water. In fact they love anything that can make a mess and we would clean up, then they would continue to make a mess, then we would clean up, and then they would continue to make a mess because they still hadn’t had enough.”

Let your kids get messy…and you don’t have to clean up

“So with daughters who loved to create a mess even after we’d cleaned up once, twice, three times we discovered we had a talent for tidying up after children who loved messy play and this is what scares most parents! So we are here to help both parents and children.

“Lots of parents were telling us that they would love to do more messy play with their children but the mess was a real put off. After having as much fun as our little ones and our medal-winning-messy-play-cleaning-up-techniques we finally decided to bring our messy play ideas to a wider audience so that while we have all the mess, you and your children have all the fun.”

Messy Marvels has just launched and has classes in:

Zoopadoopa in Cwmbran town centre Friday 10am-  £4.50 and that includes free soft play after the session.

Caerleon Town Hall Friday 2pm- £4 (with free tea and coffee for parents).

Childsplay Café in Newport- Tuesday 1pm- £4 and that’s for entrance into the playarea and cafe.
