Torfaen’s only wheelchair rugby league team is appealing for new players- and reminding people that you don’t need to be disabled to play.

Torfaen Tigers Wheelchair Rugby League wants to attract anyone who wants to try the sport for the first time or maybe ex-players who want to get involved again.

A statement from the club said:

✅ You don’t need to be a wheelchair user, or disabled, to be involved – you just need to be able to push yourself in a chair

✅ No experience is necessary – we train regularly and you’ll pick it up in no time!

✅ Anyone can join in – any age, any gender, any ability or disability. In Wales, the youngest player is just 8, and the eldest 70!

✅ We provide the equipment, but you’re welcome to use your own sports chair if you have one (and if it meets the standards)

✅ You can try it completely free – just come along to a training session

They train ever Friday at Pontypool Active Living Cente from 7pm. Just turn up or if you have questions message the club on Facebook.
