This is the 2026 squad of amateur boxers and coaches at Torfaen Warriors amateur boxing club.
They invited me to their gym in the hall next to Cheeky Monkeys in Fairwater on Wednesday 22 April 2026 to take a team photo.
Simon Weaver, head coach at Torfaen Warriors, said they’ve had an “amazing season” so far and puts some of their success down to moving to their new base in January 2025.
He said: “Since we came up to Cheeky Monkeys, it’s been amazing. The medals we’ve won is unbelievable. We’ve won loads of gold medals all over, including two golds and a silver in January over in Portugal [at the Algarve Box Cup].”
The club has a busy few months coming up with boxers competing in tournaments as far afield as Finland and Devon.
