Torfaen Play was given the Inspirational Team award at Cwmbran Community Council’s Community Awards evening.

This was read out as the team walked up and collected the award at the Parkway Hotel on Friday 6 March.

‘Torfaen Play is a professionally led team of dedicated staff, sessional workers and volunteers who deliver more than 100 play projects each year, ensuring children and young people across Torfaen have access to safe, fun and inclusive play opportunities seven days a week.

“They provide inclusive play sessions, holiday schemes and specialised support for children with additional needs, making sure every child can take part and thrive.

“Alongside this, they run regular family and community events, while also offering training and volunteering opportunities that help young people and adults gain valuable skills and confidence. Working closely with local councils, schools and community groups, their summer playschemes alone support hundreds of children each day.

“What makes Torfaen Play truly inspirational is the way they bring people together across generations and backgrounds through the power of play, nurturing confidence, creativity and wellbeing in communities where it matters most.

“For their unwavering commitment and lasting impact on families across Torfaen, they are incredibly deserving winners of the Inspirational Team Award.”
