The routes for day two to day four of the CoStar Santa Sleigh Ride around Cwmbran

Santa will be doing three more nights of visiting streets around Cwmbran on his special sleigh complete with lights and Christmas music.

The published timings for day one (Monday 5 December) were a bit out of sync with his sleigh so it was sad to see some children missed out on seeing Santa 🙁 I was in a trailing car filming a Facebook Live. I’m going to try and do one or two more nights to help give parents on the route a better idea of where he is.

Organisers stressed the times are published as approximate.

But remember, this annual event is organised by CoStar and a bunch of dedicated volunteers who give up a lot of their time to organise, plan and run this event across four cold and dark winter nights. They try their best to support Santa and make his time in Cwmbran go like clockwork but sometimes that reindeer goes a bit too fast or a bit too slow.

A few cars behind the sleigh collect donations to be distributed through CoStar’s food bank.

Approx 5.00pm start Turn left across Fairhill, towards the shops and left down Fairwater Way
Approx 5.10pm At bottom of Fairwater Way to bottom mini roundabout
Approx 5.15pm Turn right at roundabout and immediate left onto Ton Rd Turn left down Ton Rd to Bottom turn right toward Hollybush.
Approx 5.25pm Turn right around roundabout then left passing Bryn Milwr, Cefn Milwr, and Trostrey, White Hut on right,
Approx 5.40pm Turn right around roundabout at top of Henllys Way down Henllys Way
Approx 5.45pm Passing The Blinkin Owl on left East/West Rodein on right, Approx 6.00 pm continue down Henllys Way passing Heol y Groes, turn right down Waun Rd. Turn right across Cocker Avenue turn right around The Crescent.
Approx 6.20pm Back on Cocker Ave and left turn passing Gifford Close.Approx 6.30 pm Right down to roundabout across in front of TA towards Henllys Way right at the roundabout toward Cwmbran Stadium.
Turn left at Cwmbran Stadium across to Old Cwmbran. Left through Victoria Street. Onto Commercial Street and left across Wesley Street.
Approx 6.45pm Continue up Henllys Way, through traffic lights turn right at Greenmeadow Way along until turning left Blenheim Rd down past St Joe’s Social Club Blenheim Rd School.
Turn Right at Mini Roundabout back to base

Approx 5.00pm onto Fairhill passing entrance to Kingsland Walk, Badgers Mede.
Approx 5.15pm Turn Left Ty Gwyn Rd passing Bowleaze, Woolpitch, Tesco, Clyffes.
Turn right at top of Ty Gwyn Rd onto TyGwyn Way down toward Thornhill Rd
Approx 5.30pm Turn Left across Thornhill Rd turning Left around Hafren Rd.
Approx 6.00pm Left across Thornhill Rd to Upper Cwmbran Rd down the Lowlands and Pontrhydyrun to traffic Lights
Approx 6:15pm Left near Ashbridge up to roundabout left Bevans Lane roundabout exiting Edlogan Wharf roundabout.
Approx 6.25pm Take a right at Pontrhydyrun up to Lowlands and around into Pontnewydd Village.
Approx 6.30pm then Left towards Station Rd turn right on to William Street onto Porthmawr Rd exiting at Trussel Rd. left towards Traffic lights
Approx 6.40pm Left up Station Rd. Up towards Mount Pleasant to Ty Trappa left toward Upper Cwmbran turning left at old school to Maendy Way travel down to Springvale, onto Greenforge Way & back to base.

5.15pm Across Chapel Street Pontnewydd round one way left down toward Chapel Lane
Approx 5.30pm Turn right at roundabout onto Edlogan way and turn right onto Chepstow Rise. Follow Chepstow Rise and turn right onto Caerwent Road
Approx 5.45pm Drive along Caerwent Road and turn left onto Cardigan Crescent. Stop at entrance to Glaslyn Court on left.
Approx 5.55 pm Follow road along & turn right to re-join Caerwent Rd Approx 6.00 pm Follow Caerwent Road to end and turn right onto Edlogan Way Take immediate left on to North Rd At end of North Road turn left onto The Highway Follow road up, until
Approx 6.05 pm turning right for Pettingale Road Follow road until right turning to re-join Highway. Follow road until roundabout and turn left to re-join Edlogan Way.
Approx 6.15 pm Stop at entrance to Snowdon Court at lower bottom right of road. Turn left at roundabout to join Woodland Road. Turn right at end to join Turnpike Road Stopping at entrance to Plantation Drive on left.
Approx 6.30pm Turn right on Llanyrafon Way
6.35pm Turn right onto Caernafon Crescent Follow road and turn left back onto Llanyrafon Way.
Approx 6.45 pm Follow Llanyrafon Way back up turning right onto Liswerry Drive just before Llanyrafon Methodist Church. Follow road to end turn left onto Llanfrechfa Way turning left at Langorse and right onto Beaumaris Drive left to the Alders first turning on right back onto Llanfrechfa Way to roundabout.
Approx 7.00 pm Turn right towards Henllys Way return to Base
