Cwmbran residents will have another chance to watch The People’s Emergency Briefing, a film exploring the UK’s exposure to climate and nature risks.
The 50-minute film will be screened free of charge at Cwmbran Community Council in Old Cwmbran on Thursday 12 November from 6pm. To reserve a space, email [email protected]
It was shown on Sunday in Henllys Village Hall and twice during August at Llanyrafon Methodist Church.
The film is based on last November’s National Emergency Briefing at Westminster Central Hall, where more than 1,200 MPs, peers and leaders from business, culture, faith, sport and the media gathered to hear experts discuss the challenges posed by climate change and nature loss.
Introduced by broadcaster and environmental campaigner Chris Packham CBE, the event was later adapted into a 50-minute public film and launched nationwide in April. Since then, it has been screened in communities across the UK.
The film brings together leading scientists and experts to explain the environmental challenges facing the country and encourages viewers to consider what the issues could mean for their local area.
Admission is free.
