Teddy bear rescued from landfill and now living in a Cwmbran pub

Rupert looking soaking wet and unhappy after being dumped

We all love a story with a happy ending. Regular readers will know that flytipping is a regular story on Cwmbran Life. Last Saturday I spotted this large Rupert the Bear dumped against a paper recycling bank in the car park at Fairwater Shops. It was shared three times on Cwmbran Life’s Facebook page and led to 28 comments.

A few people talked about rescuing Rupert and this good news is that he has been saved from being dumped in a bin lorry and buried in landfill.

Cwmbran Life can now reveal that Rupert’s new home is The Queen Inn in Upper Cwmbran. The landlord Gareth Edwards shared this brilliant photo of Rupert all dried out and enjoying a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale. He looks very happy in this lovely, cosy pub. If you pop in, why not buy Rupert a beer?
