Serving military personnel, service families, veterans, and cadets can enjoy free bus travel with Stagecoach over Armed Forces Day weekend, taking place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June.

The offer applies to all Stagecoach bus services across the UK, with the exception of Megabus, Transport for London routes and the Bee Network.

Who can travel for free

To access the free travel, passengers simply need to show one of the following:

  • Serving military ID or wear their uniform
  • Veteran’s badge or a military medal

Stagecoach already offers free travel to the Armed Forces community every year on Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday, and says this weekend initiative is part of its ongoing commitment to supporting those who serve.

The company’s colleague‑led Veterans Network helps raise awareness of the experiences of veterans and service families within the business, and works to make Stagecoach a more inclusive employer.

In 2024, Stagecoach was awarded the Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award, recognising its continued support for the Armed Forces community.

Chris Hanson, Managing Director of Stagecoach South Wales, said: “Our Armed Forces have given so much to protect our country, and offering free travel over this weekend is just a small gesture of our immense gratitude. We want to make it as easy as possible for our service people, past and present, to attend local events and celebrate with their communities.

“Through our Veterans Network, we are dedicated to ensuring Stagecoach remains a deeply supportive environment for the military community, both as passengers and as valued colleagues.”
