Stagecoach South Wales has made a series of timetable changes with one of the most significant updates for passengers being that selected X3 bus journeys will now extend to Pontypool & New Inn Train Station.
The change is designed to strengthen links between bus and rail, following recent improvements to the station’s bus stop infrastructure.
Stronger bus and rail connections
Under the new timetable, some daytime X3 journeys will run beyond Pontypool Bus Station to serve Pontypool & New Inn Railway Station, giving passengers more frequent and convenient options for connecting with rail services.
Chris Hanson, Managing Director of Stagecoach South Wales, said: “These timetable improvements are all about making our network work better for our customers. Whether that’s improving reliability, providing better connections between communities, or making it easier to interchange between bus and rail, we’re continuing to invest in making public transport an easier and more attractive choice.
“We’re particularly pleased to see the enhanced facilities at Pontypool & New Inn Railway Station complemented by more frequent bus links. The station is an important transport hub, and these changes will make it even easier for customers to connect seamlessly between bus and rail.”
