Result of the Two Locks ward election for Cwmbran Community Council

A vote being put in a ballot box

The result of the Two Locks election for Cwmbran Community Council has been announced.

Residents in Two Locks voted today (1 September 2022) at two ballot stations, Hollybush and Coed Eva Community Centre (The White Hut) and The Bowls Pavillion on Henllys Way.

Torfaen Council staff did the count at the White Hut as soon as polls closed at 10pm tonight. The two candidates were:

At 10.37pm Caroline Genever-Jones, deputy returning officer, announced Luke Simmonds as the winning candidate with 241 votes. David Thomas had 172 votes.

Turnout was 15.3%. The seat was vacant following the passing of Councillor Peter Thomas.
