Remembrance Day parades will take place in Blaenavon, Cwmbran, New Inn, Pontnewydd and Pontypool on Sunday 14 November.

Here are the timing and meeting points for the five parades in Torfaen.

Blaenavon Remembrance Day parade

10.40am – Parade from Broad Street Car Park, marching via Broad Street and Ivor Street.

11.00am – Cenotaph at Church Road – Wreath laying and service at the Cenotaph.

Cwmbran Remembrance Day parade

10.30am – Parade assembles in car park at the rear of Natale’s Barbers & Son off Wesley Street.

10.35am – Parade forms up on Wesley Street. Marching contingent will proceed down Wesley Street and head for Cwmbran Park, halting at the lights before Henllys Way. Parade will fall out for marchers to enter the park for the Act of Remembrance.

10:50am – Service of Remembrance at Cwmbran Park; a two-minute silence will be observed, and wreaths laid.

11.15am – The Parade will then reform to return to Wesley Street where they will fall out and return to St Gabriel’s Church.

New Inn Remembrance Day parade

9.45am – Parade assembles at St Mary’s Church Hall, The Highway, New Inn.

10.00am – Parade moves off to St Mary’s Church.

10.30am – Church Service at St Mary’s.

11.20am – Parade returns to St Mary’s Church Hall.

Pontnewydd Remembrance Day parade

10.25am – Parade assembles at Royal British Legion Club, Station Road, Pontnewydd. Report to Parade Marshall Lt Ben Yuille RMR.

10.30am – Parade moves off via New Street and Brooklands Terrace, Pontnewydd for wreath laying ceremony and service at the Cenotaph.

10.45am – Parade arrives at Pontnewydd Cenotaph for Service accompanied by music from Cwmbran Band. A two-minute silence will be observed at 11am.

11.10am – Parade marches off, led by Corps of Drums, via Richmond Road, Station Road, halting at the Royal British Legion Club.

Pontypool Remembrance Day parade

11.45am – Parade assembles on Commercial Street, Pontypool Town Centre. Report to Parade Marshall, Major Neil Edmunds

12.00pm – Parade moves off.

12.05pm – Arrive at the War Memorial Park Gates for service and wreath laying ceremony.

12.30pm – Parade to re-assemble and proceed along Hanbury Road to the Clarence, returning to War Memorial for Eyes Right. Proceed to Commercial Street, Pontypool Town Centre for dismissal.

Road closures

Road closures will be in operation for a period of 30 minutes before and after the parades finish.

• Pontrhydyrun Baptist Church from 10.45am-11:15am- Meet outside the front entrance at the war memorial. Wreaths to be laid on behalf of the church and on behalf of the community (by councillor Veronica Crick). A service including observing the 2 min silence will followed by refreshments.
• Woodland Road Sport and Social Club at 12pm. A short service will be held by the war memorial.
