The Royal Air Force celebrated its 100th birthday on 1 April 2018. Three Tokens are touring the country and being displayed at every RAFA club. A Token has arrived in Cwmbran for members of the public to see.

On Saturday 18 August it will be on display in the foyer area of Cwmbran Asda with members of Cwmbran’s RAFA club available to talk about the item and its significance.
Roy Jones was in the RAF for 13 years. He is the secretary and vice-chairman of Cwmban RAFA club. He said: “We will be in Asda from 9am to 4pm and welcome anyone who wants to come along and see a piece of history. The Token is made out of spent missile casing and will be moved to Chepstow on Wednesday 22 August by a 4 x4 Mowag Duro kindly lent by RAF Oakhanger in Hampshire. This vehicle when fully kitted with radar is worth over £1.2m.”
