The plants have arrived in the new community garden in Fairwater Shops. Gardeners have just put berberis plants in and used bark to tidy the area up.
Work started a month ago in a project being led by Co Star.
When they flower in the spring it should make a nice change to the concrete ramps.
The old bins are being removed in the new year and replaced with ‘anti vandal’ metal ones, similar to the one outside the Spar (see the photo below).
The fencing will be replaced and the team behind the project hope to attract more money in 2012 to improve the outside lights.
