A Cwmbran office block could be converted into a 21-room residential care home.

Virgo Care Homes Ltd have asked Torfaen Council for permission to change the use of Stadium House on Oldbury Road from an “office building (use class B1) into residential care home (use class C2) with two-storey extension.”

The company runs two care homes in Cwmbran, Hollylodge Residential Home in Two Locks and Thomas Gabrielle Nursing Home in Old Cwmbran.

Thirty full-time jobs and ten part-time jobs would be created if the plan goes ahead. A sign on the side of Stadium House is advertising 3000 sq ft of ground floor offices to rent.

Planners at Torfaen Council will make a decision at a later date.
