A post I wrote yesterday about the Mill Tavern in Cwmbran contained an error. I assumed the closed pub was being flattened for the homes to be built. That decision has not yet been made. The application to build homes on land around the pub was approved. Tonight I came across this fascinating blog post by […]
Houses could be built on the Mill Tavern pub in Cwmbran
The pub closed three or four months ago following a good effort by the new couple who reopened it earlier this year. That was around early spring. Cwmbran pub websites
Do you ever visit a pub’s website? Are they for ‘armchair’ pub fans or to attract new drinkers and diners? Here is a tour of the websites of every pub in Cwmbran in alphabetical order. I found it quite boring as the majority of the pubs did not have an official site so for those I’ve just […]

The Co-Star project to build a community garden in the shops means local kids can’t ride up the red tile ramps anymore. But you can still have a fun bike ride in and around the shopping centre. [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSBwi8d9j6M]
Cwmbran youth rugby team fundraiser…with a gerbil
The youth team of Cwmbran RFC raised £325 for their tour to Spain next year with this unusual fundraiser. Players sold 350 numbered boxes on sheets of paper for £1 a go. That was the easy bit. The next step was finding someone who owned a hamster. A former Cwmbran RFC captain, John Hopkins, offered the […]
