A popular Cwmbran care home manager who volunteers with St John’s Ambulance on his days off is in the final of the Wales Care Awards

Tia Leigh has taken her first steps since having her right leg amputated above the knee in July. The Cwmbran teenager has been going to Rockwood hospital in Cardiff for physiotherapy.

Under Milk Wood will be performed outside Llanyrafon Manor next week on Friday 11 September. In a special open air production Dylan Thomas’ words will be brought to life on the lawn outside the manor by actors from Theatr Silures.

  Teachers at Cwmbran High School were in class yesterday to finish off preparations ready for the new school to open its doors for the first time on Monday.
