Cyclists from across Torfaen and beyond are getting ready for this year’s Dalmatian Bike Ride, the popular charity cycle event raising money for St David’s Hospice Care.
The ride, sponsored by Hedyn, takes place on Saturday 6 June 2026. The event is known for its friendly atmosphere, fancy dress, and the black‑and‑white dalmatian spots worn by riders.
There are five routes ranging from 18km to 101km. Four routes start and finish in Caerleon but for one distance- 72km-riders will be taken by bus to the start line in Brecon and follow the canal towpath back to Newport.
Spectators and cyclists can then relax at the ‘Finish Festival’ and BBQ at The Priory.
The Dalmatian Bike Ride has become one of the hospice’s biggest fundraising events, helping support patients and families across Gwent who rely on hospice services. Last year’s ride raised tens of thousands of pounds, and organisers are hoping 2026 will be another record‑breaker.
