Former Cwmbran man stars in tourism video for Sri Lanka

A former Cwmbran man ended up starring in a tourism video for Sri Lanka while on his honeymoon.
Tom Roberts, 32, went to Henllys village school and Fairwater comprehensive school. He married Sarah Pellow, from Cornwall, last summer and the pair headed off on their dream holiday.

Tom, who now lives in Cardiff, said: “It is a corporate video for Aiken Spence who are one of the biggest companies in Sri Lanka and owned a few of the hotels we stayed in. The film crew happened to be on a similar route to us around the country. They just asked us if we wanted to be in it and we said yes.

“You would not believe how many takes it took.”

He joked: “We got a free four course meal out of it. Who said romance is dead?”

They appear in two scenes that were filmed in Heritance Kandalama near Dambulla and the Heritance Tea Factory in Nuwara Eliya

They spotted their video was on You Tube earlier this week.

The appear on 2min 35secs enjoying a meal together and then at around 2min 45secs Tom strolls into the bar and meets Sarah for a drink.
