The first women’s walking football tournament in Cwmbran took place on Saturday 31 January 2026. It was organised by Cwmbran Celtic Walking Football Club.
Teams from across the country, as far afield as Liverpool and Southend, travelled to the town.
Organisers said the tournament ran smoothly thanks to the efforts of those who helped set up, referee games, run the tuck shop and manage timings and scores.
Professional photographs were taken on the day. The club praised the many volunteers, whose work made the tournament at Llantarnam 3G possible.
Teams travelled from outside the area to take part, contributing to what the club described as a “fun and enjoyable” atmosphere.
The club thanked everyone who attended and supported the event and said it looks forward to welcoming teams back for future events.
