The family of a 27-year-old Cwmbran man who passed away on Saturday 31 May are asking the motorbike community to accompany them on his journey to Gwent Crematorium in Croesyceiliog.

Kalem Hale, a former pupil at Coed Eva primary school and Fairwater Comprehensive School, had Type 1 diabetes.

He will be taken from his family home in Abergavenny on Thursday 3 July. They’ve asked any bikers who can spare the time to be outside the former Hardwick Restaurant  on the Old Raglan Road (NP7 9AA) at 1pm, ready for when they pass at 1.15pm

Jenn Hale-Williams, Kalem’s mum, said: “After living bravely with Type 1 diabetes, Kalem’s journey has come to a peaceful end. Kalem was kind, thoughtful and loved beyond words.”

His service starts at 2pm and family and friends are welcome.

Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the charity Breakthrough T1D using this fundraising page.
