Dane Bowers and Sophia Cahill meet Cwmbran Life

Last Saturday Cwmbran Life broke the news that Dane Bowers had signed for Cwmbran Celtic  football club.

It was an unusual post for a local blog and click here to read about the dilemma involved in clicking publish.

That post explained how I was worried about Cwmbran Celtic being annoyed…I never really worried about Dane …

That became a bit more real tonight as I was stood at the bar of the Greenhouse pub.

Sophia Cahill and Dane arrived and I had another dilemma.. My story was picked up and shared and even led to being included in a Popbitch celebrity email round up.

I could have sat at the bar and ignored everything. My local link to Sophia goes back 12 years and in the 30 minutes before they arrived I was already chatting to her mum about a story I had written for the South Wales Argus in 2000.

Her mum made the introductions and before I knew it Dane was buying me an SA Gold. Phew…

I returned the favour. He had a bottle of Budweiser.

In the 45 minutes of fun conversation with them both I’ve lined up a couple of quirky stories for Cwmbran Life. Hopefully they will happen.
