The 2023 Christmas lights are being switched on today in Cwmbran town centre.
The day starts at 11.45am followed by an afternoon of fun events before Britain’s Got Talent star Travis George and Lydia Evans, Miss Newport 2023, flick the switch to light up the town at 5pm.
Timetable for the Cwmbran Christmas lights switch on
- 11.45am – Lydia Evans (Miss Newport 2023) will kick the day off.
- 12pm – Piping Hot Cwmbran Piping Band will perform. Don’t miss them leading the parade at 4.30pm.
- 12.30pm – Nant Celyn Primary School will sing.
- 1pm – Swn y Gan Choir will get everyone in the Christmas spirit with some Christmas songs and hymns.
- 2pm – Watch ‘The Voice of Tom Jones’ sing the well-known classic hits.
- 3pm – The SL Dance Academy will put on a festive performance.
- 4pm – Travis George will sing.
- 4.30pm – Lydia Evans will share her Miss Newport story and how to support her as she runs for Miss Great Britain
- 4.59pm– Lydia Evans and Travis George countdown to the lights turn on at 5pm.
