A Cwmbran woman is taking part in her first half-marathon to raise money for a local mental health charity.
Dem Jones, 27, from Thornhill, is training for the Newport Marathon Festival in April to support Mind in Gwent
She said: “I’ve chosen to run and fundraise for a charity that is close to my heart as someone who suffers with mental health.
“I’d like to help fundraise so Mind can continue their amazing efforts to help so many people across the country. I myself haven’t had to use the Mind service but know others that have, and what wonderful feedback they’ve given. I’m truly grateful for Mind’s efforts in helping people of all ages.”
To keep her motivated for her fundraising run, she’s also signed up for the Chepstow Half Marathon in January, and plans to take part in the Christmas Day Parkrun event.
