Two young dance pairs from Cwmbran’s Rhythmic Dance Academy have earned the honour of representing Wales at the upcoming Blackpool Junior Dance Festival 2026 at the world‑famous Winter Gardens Ballroom.

Amy, aged ten, and Ella‑Mae, aged nine, have been chosen for the Juvenile Classical Sequence Team, while Seren, 14, and Melissa, 13, will compete as part of the Junior Classical Sequence Team.

Their selection marks a major achievement for both couples and a proud moment for the academy, recognising the dancers’ dedication, talent and hard work.

Jemma Battiscombe, who runs Rhythmic Dance Academy, said: “This is a huge success for both couples and we are incredibly proud of their achievements.”

The festival has been running since 1957 and attracts young dancers from all over the world to compete in the seaside town.

The 2026 event is from Monday 6 April to Sunday 12 April.
