Cwmbran Town’s youth chairman Alex Guest has had his long hair cut off in a charity head shave – with help from the club’s under‑8s, who each took a turn with the scissors.
The shave was originally planned for Saturday 30 May but was moved to Sunday because of the Champions League final. It took place at the club’s home ground at Penylan Fields in Coed Eva, where Alex coaches the under-8s.
Alex decided to support two causes close to his heart:
- The Little Princess Trust, which provides free real‑hair wigs to children and young people who lose their hair through cancer treatment or medical conditions.
- Cwmbran Town U8s, who are raising money to cover costs for kit, equipment and pitch hire, as well as helping fund a team tour.
Alex said the young players loved taking part:
“The team really enjoyed getting to cut my hair. All of them were very excited to get a chance and cut a little bit off each.”
He added that running a youth football team is becoming increasingly expensive, and every donation helps keep the experience fun, affordable and accessible for families.
All money raised will be split between both causes, and Alex’s hair will also be donated to the Little Princess Trust.
